As I have been tutoring, I have seen that math and science are not children's strong subjects and I work to have the students understand them more.
I love working with children. I believe that every child has the potential to learn, and as a tutor I work to find which way the child learns best, whether through sports or music, or other various activities. I feel the need for tutoring is the need to simply obtain information in a form that is different from the one presented in the classroom. As a tutor, I work to break things down into their constituent pieces and explain each of these pieces in turn. This is a more time-intensive method of instruction, of course, as the breaking down of information is totally dependent on the way it must be done for it to make sense to the student. Tutoring allows this method to be used, as one-on-one, this method is just as quick as the standard schoolroom methods.
As a holder of a BS in Chemistry, I have a very strong grasp of science and mathematics, as well as a passion for the written word. I have volunteer experience tutoring my fellow students at Eastwood High School, out of which came two years' of summer tutoring for one of the individuals I helped while volunteering. My methods are amorph ... read more

The students need to have rules; however, its the teacher's job to make sure each student is treated well and respectfully. I also believe that technology is a very important aspect of education that needs to be addressed.

I love teaching and finding ways to communicate new ideas with different students. I like to use real life examples that students can understand to help them grasp and visualize concepts that are difficult to comprehend in upper level sciences.
