A Little Bit About Me...

While working as an engineer I discovered a passion for teaching and the joy of "sharing" knowledge with others. I am now semi-retired and would like to extend that passion by tutoring in science and mathematics on a part-time basis. I have three engineering degrees as well as teacher certification in secondary science and mathematics. I have taught in a high school and middle school, as well as at the community college level. I am proficient in all areas of mathematics and physical sciences that are offered at the secondary level, and my engineering experience has taught me how to apply these skills as well as communicate effectively in reports and other technical documents. I am a recent college graduate from George Fox University. While attending G.F.U I had the opportunity to work for C.S. Lewis Elementary school in Newberg, Oregon as their Physical Education teacher. I loved working with children, and making my own lesson plans. The school allowed myself to work on my own lesson plans, and teach the children not only fitness but valuable exercise, and nutritional facts. I have also had the opportunity to work as a private tutor overseas in Germany, and Spain. This was an amazing experience, tutoring and learning. Being a college graduate I have had extensive work in reading and essay comprehension. I would love the opportunity to tutor again!
