My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : While attending the University of the Pacific I was in charge of their Reading Clinic. I have extensive experience in this area.

I have taught in Michigan and in California. I also have credentials as a school counselor and psychologist. I have experience with all aspects of the special education system from the K through grade 12 level. This incudes testing, placement and re-evaluation and the IEP process. I also have worked at the post secondary level and am familiar with academic and financial aide requirements.
I am very aware of the necessity of adapting my teaching style to the learning modality of those I am working with. As an educator I evaluated students to define how they best process information. They may be auditory learners, visual learners or they may use a combination approaches. I am very patient and understand that everyone can learn. I believe in setting goals and evaluating progress to establish new goals when necessary.

Is it a requirement and not in your field of study so you just want to pass the class or is this a part of your passion or career and really want to know the nuts and bolts of the subject. My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : Taught my children to read and they had very high reading proficiency in school.

Typing: 4 yrs. High School typing classes and years of typing on the home computer. I did take a couple R.O.P. classes on computer programs but have forgotten most of what I was taught since I didn't use it. I learn very quickly and can figure things out pretty well if I don't know how it works. I type 58 words per minute without looking at the keyboard. Drama: Involved with theater for approx. 5 to 6 yrs. On stage and back stage experience. No on camera experience. Also directed a show. Love theater and I know the basics and would love to help you learn. Reading: Taught my children, volunteered and worked in school. Love to read to and also help people learn to read.
