I am a patient and laid back type of tutor. I like to make students feel comfortable around me and realize that I have a genuine concern for their academic achievements. I am a graduate from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. As a chemistry graduate, I am very familiar with the subject. In addition to my own academic achievements, I tutored mathematics and chemistry at Georgia Military College for 3.5 years. After several changes in intended career direction and four years of general education with an pre-engineering emphasis, I have earned my associates degree and transfered to the University of Oregon as a pre-math major. I expect to have my bachelor's degree in two years and am doing so with tutoring as an occupation in mind. I own a small business, am familiar with independent contracting, do photo manipulation freelancing in my spare time and am enthusiastic about the possibilites Advanced Learners may hold for me. A Little Bit About Me...

In addition to completing accounting courses for my B.S. in Accounting, I completed two courses in Child Development and Education, and all college level math courses through Calculus. I have tutored students in math since 1989. At Juniper Elementary in Bend, OR, I was a Good News Club teacher and volunteered as a reading specialist working to improve reading skills of struggling students. I also teach music lessons, group and individual. I received teacher training through CEF. With my love for teaching, I have enjoyed the honor of homeschooling my 4 children who test as gifted and talented and exceed in all areas on their testing.

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. I had to teach ELL students Social Studies, Math, Language arts in both Spanish and English and science. As a substitute I taught all kinds of classrooms including all subject matters.
