A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for two years as a Science Teacher and I have loved it. I have earned a bachelor's degree in secondary comprehensive science education where I am liscensed to teach all sciences. I have a vast knowledge of all sciences and I am a lifelong learner who is constantly challenging himself to learn more about science through self-teaching and self-study. I have taught AP Biology for one year, and 5 standard biology classes on block scheduling. I have also taught 3 standard earth science classes and one honors earth science. I am qualified to teach all sciences but my concentration in college was in biology. 50% of my students have scored 3 or above on the EOC for Biology. More About This Tutor...

I would be glad to work with students of all ages, but I prefer to work with a student individually rather than work with students in a group. From both my experience of being an informal tutor and being tutored, I find that students general prefer this style of tutoring because the tutor can both focus and better access their student's strengths and weaknesses in the particular academic subject they are having difficulty with.
I have informally tutored people of various age ranges in the subjects, physics and math , for a period that ranges over about three years . I have taught younger relatives as well as helped people informally on online tutoring message boards with math and physics problems. I have also been paid to assist students in how to operate the basic commands of computational mathematical software for three years as well.

I believe with my background I should be a good candidate for the tutoring position. I have a B.S. Chemistry from Elizabeth City State University, where I did R&D work with Atrazine. Atrazine is a pesticide that was tested qualitatively and quantitatively using HPLC. I've completed coursework for a M.S. Chemical Physics from Norfolk State University. After being offered a Teaching Assistantship, I taught multiple chemistry laboratory classes.
