I am kind of new to teaching. I have taught my little brother everything he knows, and I've been told I have a really good way of teaching. Younger students catch on very quickly to what it is I am teaching. If they don't catch on quick, then no problem. I'm very patient and never give up until a student understands the concept. I am very easy to get along with, so the student will have no problems with me. My teaching style focuses on the student and his/her struggles. I really try to make the student understand the topic at hand and how to study it effectively. Studying techniques are very important and I introduce those techniques to the student. I really guide the student step-by-step through his/her struggles and to build their confidence. I change their mentality to a positive one. I enjoy working with others and I use all the resources that I can to make the student understand the topic. I believe that students can reach their potential if they are given the tools that they need. My job is to be the toolbox for them. As a special education teacher, I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of the students. I believe that a child should be given a vast amount of positive reinforcement and always be spoken to and taught with respect. I also believe children need boundaries set that will consistently be reinforced. Our job is to teach them those boundaries but to do so with compassion.
