My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, and 5th Grade. I am certified K-6th grade. I also taught advanced and Intermediate math and language arts in a GED/HiSet program. I currently teach ESOL/CIVICS for an Adult School.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my last two years at Shorter University, I was employed by both the Shorter University Writing Center and the Shorter University Periscope (the newspaper). I spent those two years tutoring students on the composition and structure of essays, and helped them edit and proofread their work. As an editor for the newspaper, I was a mentor to all of my staff writers, as well as a contributor myself.
I believe that the best way to teach a child or student is by listening to them first. The style of teaching I choose to use is based on the learning style of the student. I have been educated in the various styles of teaching and base my style on what best suits the student I am working with at the time. Most children learn from hand-on teaching, so that is a style I use most often. Working one-on-one with a student gives the tutor a chance to use various styles within the teaching efforts.

A Little Bit About Me...

I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
I am a recent graduate of kennesaw State University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. I believe that I am competent in various areas of biology and chemistry, and will be able to convey that competence.
