My comments on tutoring Hearing Impaired : I know some sign language and have had students who are hearing impaired in my class room in the past.

As mentioned in my earlier description, I have eighteen years experience as an educator. I have taught students of all ages from early childhood through college and non-traditional adult education. I believe in making learning fun and engaging by relating concepts to points of interest for the individual student.
Tutoring differs from teaching in that "style" is replaced by method. Some of the methods I have used in the past are rhythm and music, neumonic devices, and of course, drill and practice. I have been told that I am gifted with presenting material in novel ways.

I am very patient. Before every lesson I review past lessons to ensure we are not building a castle on sand. I pass on to the student the ability to convey his acquired knowledge under test conditions. I try to make a difference in each student’s life. I hope to leave the student satisfied and happy at the end of each lesson and eager for the next lesson. A successful lesson takes away the student’s fear of his or her classroom. I earned my BA in Political Science and graduated from one of the best state schools in the United States, then went to law school and graduated near the top of my class. As a graduate from western Carolina University, I earned my BS in Criminal Justice in three years and am close to gaining my MS in Human Services. I have been working in the human service field as a case manager/community support worker. Although it is not thought of as a teaching job, I have had the pleasure of teaching children and adults basic skills, academic skills and assisting with homework.
