My comments on tutoring ADD/ADHD : Special education teaching in elementary schools for 35 years

I have recently retired from teaching 35 years in the public schools as a special education teacher for elementary school children. I have taught all elementary subjects, and have experience in resource rooms and fully self contained classrooms I have also taught preschool students for the past 6 years. I have a master's degree in special education. I love to help children find success in school and feel good about their abilities. I have tutored all ages for many years and look forward to working with children preK- grade 6.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned a BA from the State University of New York at Potsdam, majoring in history and writing. All throughout college I tutored various subjects which include history, writing, literature, earth science, and general biology. These experiences lead me to want to pursue my masters in education. I love teaching. In addition I have extensive skills in grammer and writing due to writing research papers and essays in various areas of study.
I love teaching all ages. I believe in making learning hands on and also making learning fun and interesting. I am extremely patient, friendly and motivational. I love to see a child's face light up when they finally understand something. My teaching experience includes teaching Kindergarden and second grade in Guam, than I taught 4 years for the Department of Defense in Germany. I now live in Hawaii and have taught for the Department of Education Special Education, and English As A Second Language with Adult Eeducation.
