Texas Certified Teacher: Early Childhood thru 5th Grade

I taught Early Childhood and Elementary school, grades Pre-K through 5th, in the Houston Independent School District for 10 years. I mostly taught 1st grade. It is amazing to see them progress and learn, from non readers to readers, from non writers to story writers. Since I moved to Baton Rouge I continued tutoring children struggling academically in the areas of Math, Reading, Language Arts, Spanish, and Social Studies.

A fire destroyed my school in August I decided not to rebuild the school because my youngest son Gavin was saying that he wanted to attend public school so that he could play sports and qualify for possibly a scholarship or work study program to help with his college fees.
