A Little Bit About Me...

Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle.
I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. I have been very successful in academics throughout my education. I was valedictorian of my high school, and I received the top honors in English, French, and Accounting. I also maintained a 4.0 average throughout my college education.

I have always enjoyed working with children, especially those of the second, third, or fourth grade level. I am patient, helpful, and considerate. I believe that there are different ways to learn and attack problems, and that all children can succeed if only encouraged to do so. I also believe that practice and learning by doing are essential in learning. I always try to make a difference in students' lives.
Education has always been extremely important to me. I have recently retired, having taught third grade for over thirty years. I worked in the public school system during this time, tutoring Math. I have tutored and aided my nieces from elementary school to the present. I still help them with papers and studying for tests.
