A Little Bit About Me...

The majority of my experience was obtained directly from my courses of study during my collegiate career. While taking all of my Physics courses math was a very important skill to have and be able to apply in a physical sense. Communication is a skill which I obtained while working alone or in a team for research purposes. I have a little over a year of experience as a lab assistant teaching astronomy on a college level.
The key to teaching any age of student is the ability of the teacher or tutor to recognize the students level of need and their adherence to a study regiment. Some students learn best in a conventional step-by-step process, while others learn better with real world applications or a "reason" for a particular concept. I try to target problem areas that students are having. I encourage them to ask questions and stop me when I am explaining something in order for them to understand it better. It really puts a smile on my face when I can see their frustration melt away. There is no set style that I teach it just depends on where the students strengths and weaknesses lie. Mathematics and the sciences don't have to be near as difficult as they are made out to be, it's all about the problem solving process.
