Experienced high school and middle school math tutor

I feel that a tutor should focus on command, connection and clarity. A tutor must have excellent command of the subject material if they are to improve a student's understanding. A tutor must try to make a connection with his student for progress to be made. Finally, a tutor must be able to instruct with clarity if the student is to succeed.
