Teaching has been an integral part of my life from graduate school to today. I taught English 1 and 2 as a graduate student at both WVU and Franciscan University of Steubenville. From 1991-1999, I was Director of Religious Education at two different churches. My responsibilites included developing programs and teaching students of all ages as well as adults. For the past three years, I have been teaching in the English department at Butler County Community College. I have taught mainly writing and reading courses at this level.

As a young college graduate, my own school days are not far behind me, and I remember academic pressure and strain. I am taking a class in my Master's program in which I have learned six different educational methods to use with students. Each method is different, and I have been able to learn and work through each of them. I am confident in my ability to concentrate learning through cooperative groups, presentations, direct instructions, problem based and discovery topics, concept lessons, and disscusions. I have also been taught in each lesson how to edit the lesson for English Language Learners, gifted students, and students who need more support. I believe that each child learns in their own unique way.
