In 2004 I graduated from Smith College with a double major in American Studies and Art History. While Smith is founded in the liberal arts, I chose to take courses across all disciplines in order to receive Latin Honors. Additionally I have a MA in Media Studies from the New School University. I have a background in tutoring across disciplines and have many strengths and particularly in writing and editing due to my work experience in publishing this past year. My passion for teaching is open forum. I meet the students where they are. some are visual, some hands on and some automated. I pace the student and test in areas of weakness. I provide computer advance learning as well as class and peer mentoring. I use all types of devices such as field trips, school resources, library and hands on life experences to get the students more involved. I like the student to process information by coming to the board and classroom prompts to get students involved in the daily lesson.

I am a highly motivated and organized teacher with a passion for teaching students of all ages. I recently worked as a long term music substitute at Hamburg Area High school in Hamburg, Pa. There I taught beginner guitar, chorus, piano and coached the drama club. This past summer I taught remedial reading during the summer school session at Hamburg. I have tutoring experience in Reading, Math, and elementary science. As a college student, I worked as a tutor. I taught music theory, sight singing, elementary science, math, and reading. I now am a substitute teacher and am teaching a variety of subjects daily.
