Teaching students is a passion and an art. I approach each situation by trying to understand what stress factors are experienced by the students, as well as how they need to be approached to learn. Some students need to have a direct approach, others need to try on their own and then step by step correct their mistakes to both build up confidence for doing well and understand where they went wrong. I have found that there is nothing so rewarding as that moment when a subject 'clicks' for a student. By staying positive and adaptive I believe it is possible to guide students to finding solutions on their own. I work at finding new ways to approach common stumbling blocks and try to show students how applicable math is to everyday life. I had the opportunity of tutoring college algebra and basics of statistics during 2003 and 2004 while pursuing my Master of Business Administration degree at Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. Also had the opportunity of being teacher assistant for geometry during my Junior year while taking my bachelor degree. Currently I manage a retail store for a Fortune 100 company and I just finished a concentration on Finances to add to my MBA degree.
