Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems). I have not taught english to an 11th grader in a public school, but I make it a fact to learn everyday and spread the knowledge to whomever i come into contact with and is willing to learn. I teach through discovery (trial/error), tactile (hands-on), play, & also providing a positive approach/praise to learning. Children want to learn. It is the job and responsibility of the teacher to show enough concern and ability to show these children how to learn. I try to always remember when I was younger and had a great deal of difficutly learning to read and write, how the teacher who helped me went about doing it so I could learn.
