Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Since my hire in August 2004, I have planned, co written, and implemented curriculum. As a result, 74.6% of my students exceeded the state average for the 2005 SCISA assessment of State Standards; scores in Seventy-five point four percent of my students exceeded the state average for the 2005. In addition, I have also implemented various academic incentive programs for student enrichment. With these programs, students continue to develop pride in their efforts to engage in the learning environment.

I excel at teaching intensive phonics and addition/subtraction/multiplication/division facts. Besides giving my students a strong foundation to build on, I also love to energize their internal motivation to succeed. My love of kids lead me to get a Masters in Elementary Education. I taught third grade for three years and fourth grade one year in private Christian schools. I enjoyed being able to carry on the great Christian heritage of our country and our faith as Christians to the next generation. I tutored several students who were learning English as a second language. In the 2014/2015 school year I worked at a Montessori School. I was able to study montessori methods which help to develop the student's independence, confidence, curiosity, and concentration.

My teaching style is different for every person. I have to asses each individual student find out what their strong and weak points are before they can fully benefit from my tutor sessions. I am easy going, friendly, and honest. My only goal is to teach the material so the student will fully understand, remember, and enjoy what he/she is learning. My teaching style is mainly dependant on the person that I am tutoring. If a student needs to take a slower process to learn than I am adaptable to that. The same is true for someone who has a little faster pace. I am flexible. I have experience with teaching adults how to read at my local literacy organization. Also, I have tutored children with Reading and Math. I was a substitute teacher for students from Pre Kindergarten through High School with different subjects and disciplines. I can freely tutor others because of the experiences that I have had while earning my degrees. Helping others learn is a passion of mine.
