I am a friendly and easy to talk to person. I strive to make my tutoring and mentoring sessions into conversations rather than a one-way lecture. When tutoring or mentoring, I usually let the student lead the session so that I can assess where his or her strengths and weaknesses lie. I like to let them take the initiative because it actively engages them in the learning process versus passively listening to me. My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text.
