As a volunteer for St. Joseph's Home for Boys and Upward Bound, I have gained experience working with elementry middle and high school students on a personal level. I feel that my ability to reach the minds of youth is great because I speak to them not at them. I encourage them as well to question my ability as a teacher and leader while exhibiting the highestly levels of respect and understanding for others thought patterns. My teaching style is to draw students out of their traditional comfort zones, while displaying respect for others points of view and values. Because education on all levels teaches higher levels of thinking it is very important to have great respect for others academic percepts while maintaining ones personal believe ( While with Upward Bound the students attended my classes attentively and I had to be moved to a bigger room to hold the sessions. I was honored by their willingness to be ACTIVELY INVOLVED with my classes because I encouraged each student to be passionate about his/her future.
