A Little Bit About Me...

I chose this major because I am fascinated by children, and how they all develop at their own individual rate. I am patient and kind, but at the same time, I like push a child to reach the potential that they usually do not ever realize they have. Children have different methods of learning and unfortunately, classroom settings do not meet all the students' needs. Some are more hands on, while some are just listeners. I like to find out what works best for the child, and go from there.
I am a proud graduate of Iowa State University in Child, Adult, and Family Services with an emphasis on child development. With my education I have had experience researching child development in a hands on manner through the Iowa State's Child Development Lab, which ranges of children from birth to six years old. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching mathematics and have a deep love for what can be gained from having an understanding and appreciation of math. I also understand that math is not everyone's favorite subject. With that in mind my goal is for everyone that I teach or tutor to have enough of an understanding to appreciate its usefulness. When I teach I utilize several different teaching strategies to ensure that I reach as many of my students as possible. As a tutor I am able to use these strategies and more. When it comes to math, I believe that everyone can have a fundamental understanding of the concepts. There are several methods used to solve problems and when tutoring small groups or one-on-one it is easier to find which method suits them best.
