I was a full-time sixth grade teacher with the International Baccalaureate program for elementary, middle school students. I created a classroom environment that was conducive to learning, and independent study. Recognizing my capability and talent I was given the opportunity to teach math and computers to high school students and also science and computers to all grade levels. I volunteer at the Short Pump Elementary School as a Math Helper and I am very comfortable using the Promethean Board. A Little Bit About Me...

For the bulk of my academic and professional career I have mentored or supervised colleagues or post-doctoral fellows in the natural sciences. While I have obtained academic training in Chemistry and Biology (BS), Biochemistry (MS and Ph.D) and neuroscience (post-doctoral research) I have studied and utilized many additional areas of science including, immunology, molecular biology, organic chemistry, toxicology, epidemiology. In addition, I have developed extensive knowledge of electronics, computer programming and robotics. During the last four years, I have functioned as the computer mentor for the LC Bird High School Robotics team. My list of scientific publications speaks to my abilities to communicate in written format.
