I believe that every student is different and not ever student learns the same. I like emphasis on visual education and demonstrations because they stick with you much longer than technical memorization of topics. Real life application is crucial to me as well, if you want to be pre med I like to tutor you with problems that are applicable to that field. Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems). I am a very patient teacher. If it seems someone is 'just not getting it' I will try a different approach. People learn at different levels, and what works for one does not always work for another; therefore,finding the way for each individual student is the key. I have also found that most people learn a task by 'hands on' learning, not listening to how it should be done.
