I have helped tutor since I was a freshman in high school. I began working with kindergarteners through third grade students on reading and writing. Throughout my sophomore year of high school I tutored middle school math students (ages 11-14) and helped to train our "Mathalon" team. Before I became a teacher in Philadelphia, I tutored in a private tutoring agency in Florida (where I was working on my undergraduate degree). That was my first experience with tutoring and I loved it. I liked being able to give individual attention to a student after he or she had spent all day in the classroom.
