I customize my teaching style to best suit the individual students, I have the ability to explain the concepts logically, by proving the equiptions or graphically. I love helping the challenged student understand concepts that they assume that they will never understand.
I have 25 years experience in the civil engineering field, specifically the water resources area. I started substitute teaching at both the Lincoln Community High School and Hartem School District in 2009. I also started tutoring for Lincoln College in the Academic Success Center, last year. I'm friendly, and I'm willing to help anybody who need help. I like to make the students think for themselves because I believe that math and physics is more about the understanding of the concept than remembering the formulas. To get better understanding of the topic, one has to practice and to think on one's own. I give hints when they are stuck. I believe that people can do the problems with my hints or by following my examples. They are definitely mentally ready for the material especially when they are taking the class at the same time. I am patient and I always tell people to slow down when they do things too quick and miss something in execution.
