My comments on tutoring Poetry : Received 1st Place for Unpublished Poetry in the 2008 Tulsa Public Library's Creative Writing Contest.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Georgia in 2000, I went on to study Poetry with renowned poets Bill Knott and John Skoyles at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon finishing my thesis I moved to Oklahoma to be close to my family, where I continued pursuing my literary interests by volunteering my services to read for international literary journal Nimrod, published out of the University of Tulsa. A Little Bit About Me...

I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University. I have worked with children in a professional setting since 2004 in church, non profit, daycare, early childhood, and preschool settings. I value education and find it to be a crucial and vital part of child development. I have tutored autistic students, as well as taught preschool for 14 months both at Saint Dunstans Preschool and Holland Hall College Preparatory School.
I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome. I practice "learning by doing" where they create their own style and way of accomplishing the task based on age appropriate methods and ways that work for them.
