A Little Bit About Me...

I have a passion for teaching. I beleive it was what I was born to do. I believe learning can be fun and stress free. I am patient, easy going and a "friend" to my students. I beleive all children can succeed if given the proper tools.
I am a Marshall University student and Adjunct Faculty member. I have earned a bachelor degree in Communications Studies with a minor in Public Relations. In 2006, I received a Master's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Oral Speaking. Presently, I am two semesters away from an Ed.S. in Higher Education with hopes of entering the doctorate program next fall. I have taaught a variety of levels of Communication courses at Marshall University, MCTC, and Huntington Junior College.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a music graduate of Morehead State University, I was very much driven to achieve a level of excellence in education. I earned my BS is Music Education and have completed additional coursework required for re-certification. I have substiute taught many classes and did a long term position teaching 6th grade science. While teaching music for three years, I also worked as a tutor for Sylvan, where I gained tutoring skills. I also privately tutored in my home in the subject of math.
My teaching style is very hands on. I understand that students learn in a variety of ways. Some are hands on, and need to actually get their hands on the project to understand. A well-rounded education is fundamental to succeeding in today's society, and it is what sets job applicants apart from their lesser-qualified peers. The most basic tools to getting a good education, I believe, are having a firm mastery of reading and writing. Throughout my education, I have always excelled in all aspects of reading and writing, and I believe I have done so because I genuinely enjoy reading and writing.
