Great lessons made fun!

I use common phrases to start and then continue with common verbs and increase the vocabulary with common everyday words. I use my fun, outgoing personality to make sure that the lessons are not only fun but also stick in he mind for maximum retention of each lesson.
I lived in Brazil and taught English to Brazilians. I also taught Portuguese to Americans who were living in Brazil. My comments on tutoring Grammar : This is an important part of composition.

The kids have ranged from ages 8-14. As well, I have been giving guitar lessons to kids between the ages of 10-14. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Elementary school only

I believe every student has their own style of learing. I am very much a visual learner and utilize this style. Many students, though, are tactile learners and/or find their attention is kept using computers. I love discovering what type of learner each child is. I like to always be positive and instill in my students that they can accomplish anything we just have to work together and discover their "niche". My comments on tutoring Grammar : I have tutored students about grammar at the middle school level, and I would feel comfortable tutoring at the high school level also (SAT, ACT, etc.).

ALL STUDENTS WELCOME!

Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed.
