My ESL teaching style includes an approach called 'whole language learning', which includes reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I also implement interactive learning (i.e. conversation and dialogues, interactive websites, etc.) and learning through play/games. I always adapt my teaching methods to my students' learning styles, whether they be auditory, visual, TPR, tactile, or analytic learners.
As a certified TESL instructor, I have worked as an ESL teacher for Aston English in Weihai, China for the past 12 months. Before my time teaching abroad, I volunteered in an English learning class at Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri. My comments on tutoring English : I've been teaching Basic English to foreign students.

I possess a calm, patient, and encouraging approach to teaching English through fun and play.
After finishing my 1st year in college, I started tutoring both online and offline. I have been working as an ESL Teacher for Chinese at different ages. I have over 20 years experience teaching in Japan.

I have lived in Japan now for 27 years. I am planning to return to the U.S. in April. I have and am currently teaching in 23 locations with upwards of 34 classes/lessons per week. My students range in age from two to 64 years. I currently teach English conversation part-time at the International Resort College, where I have classes for future cabin attendants and airport ground staff. I also teach weekly group classes at six different Kindergarten/nursery schools. I have several private students, and small private group lessons as well. I have been a teacher for 15 years in East St. Louis, Il School District 189. Over those years I have taught 1st grade for two years, and Middle School Grades 6-8 Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies. I have also served as a Homebound Instructor for Elementary, Middle School, and High School Students for 3 years. In addition I have served as an after school tutor for 4 years with the YMCA and Sylvan Learning Center. I was basketball coach for 2 years for 4th and 5th grade students previously.
