I have been involved with education for roughly the past five years, spending 2 as a substitute teacher, 2.5 as a Middle and High School Social Studies teacher and 0.5 as an Adult Education Instructor. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College. Classes I have taught include United State History, World History, World Geography and Law & Justice. My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching. It consists of lecture notes, handouts, exams and quizes and games such as Jeopardy. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and grow as individuals. It is my job as the teacher to make learning both enjoyable and educational. My main goal in education is to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach.

I enjoy teaching and working with children and realize that each child is a unique individual with a different learning style. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things. I love children of all ages. I am very patient and laid back. I am kind, and considerate of others. My goal would be to help the child learn and understand, while making the experience a fun and rewarding one. When I was in my first year of college, I took a personality profile that was intended to tell me what career choices would suit me the best. Each time I took the profile, the results stated that I was best suited to be a Teacher. The secondary career choice was business. I entered college so that I could be a financial professional, and was rather surprised by the results of the profile that I thought would say "financial" as my career choice. I decided to teach driver's education at a local Christian school for two years, and found that my students were actually learning valuable lessons from my experiences, and were retaining what I taught them.
