I used my skills as a librarian to encourage students to explore and enjoy books. We explored different types of literature genres, researched using the computer, and utilized the reference books in our library. My goal was to help struggling readers overcome their hesitation to read and explore different avenues of information sources.
I have been a school librarian/media specialist for 26 years. I have worked with students in grades K-12. My role as a librarian enabled me to interact with students of all learning levels. Students who struggled would come to me to find materials that they could understand more easily. During times that I did not have classes in the library, I was usually assigned to tutor students who were in the low percentile groups based on MCT scores. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I believe that everyone can learn, but some teachers styles don't match up with the students learning style. I am a very patient and considerate person. I am a firm believer that many students can't learn strictly through theory and need to be walked through example problems. Walking through problems gives them a better visualization of what they are trying to solve.
