My comments on tutoring Guitar : The basics of performing and songwriting with acoustic or electric guitar. Setup and maintenance.

In both my technical business and music coaching backgrounds, I take two different approaches: - In a group class, I teach structured lessons with engaging group exercises where possible and time for Q&A. - In individual coaching, I assess each learner's intrinsic motivations (mastery, learning, recognition, etc.) for taking the lessons and then structure assignments that apply to and challenge these motivators.
As a Product and Project Manager with over 10 years of cumulative experience managing software, web and video game products to market, I offer students real-world perspectives and exercises to prepare them for real-world design, production, quality assurance, leadership and marketing careers. I tend to teach the concepts that are not found in textbooks and always challenge my students to think critically.

More About This Tutor...

I am a successful graduate of Susquehanna University, having earned a BA in International Studies. This study of cultural anthropology allowed me ample experience with writing, grammar, and research. I will be attending Rutgers University next year to earn a Master of Science degree in Microbiology. I am very experienced in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, and Math on all levels. In addition to my devotion to the sciences, I have maintained an advanced-conversational level of fluency in French and an ability in the creative arts through coursework at the collegiate level and would be able to teach those as well.
As a student who has dabbled in so many areas, it is easy for me to assess when a teacher/professor is not explaining a concept in a method that helps the students. I have previous experience tutoring, but my teaching talent comes from my role as the unofficial tutor for ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a range of experiences which help make me a superior candidate to tutor. I have lived and studied in Barcelona, Spain. During this experience I learned a lot about Spanish culture and brought my Spanish to a mastery level. I lived with a host family which gave me the opportunity to become more involve with Spanish culture and their traditions. Upon returning from Spain, I finished my degree at SUNY Oswego with two semesters of student teaching.
I have a very unique teaching style in that I like to incorporate many different presentation methods and I am a firm believer of teaching to multiple intelligences. No two students learn the same way and if the student is not learning the teacher is just as responsible as the student. This being said I have used many different teaching methods from having the students performing, and singing to setting up shops to buy and sell produc ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

As a young man I had several problems with math. It turns out that I was unable to visualize what the equations meant in abstract algebra and calculus. Eventually I was able to relate these concepts to subjects that I found interesting such as music and archaeology. Therefore creating more interest in the subjects that I gravitated to naturally. I believe that I could explain concepts to others in a way that suits their interests. At the end of the day the reason I would be a good tutor is that I am truly interested in learning and teaching what I learn.
As a graduate of Lehigh University, I am interested in helping others learn about the subjects that I had become well acquainted with. I have a BA in Anthropology which I believe makes me a great candidate to teach a broad array of subjects including reading and writing, history, art, and cultural studies. In addition I have t ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching students of all ages and abilities. I think it's important for the student to connect to the material in a personal way, and as a teacher it is my responsibility to help them discover how. With a strong connection, and proper guidance, the student is able to then develop a passion for the material, and will thrive. I think it's important to give students positive encouragement, and ways for them to realize their progress, so as to develop confidence, and hence a stronger connection/passion.
I have a B.Mus. from Five Towns College. I have been actively involved in music almost all of my life. I've played in numerous groups of varied styles, at various venues. I have a passion for playing guitar. I first picked up the instrument as a child, and fell in love. I've been playing for well over 15 years now; I've been teaching others to play here in my neighborhood in Brooklyn. I studied fine art at Pratt Institute, and have experience working with Iggy and THe Stooges and Tommy James and the Shondelles, among others. Let's rock!
I approach teaching guitar with a personalized, individual style. Guitar is such a wonderful, diverse instrument that there is no one way to learn. I'll take in to consideration how much experience you have, if any; where you'd like to go with your playing, what styles of music you'd like to play, and we'll rock from there.

More About This Tutor...

I am a life long learner and model that for my students. Assessing the academic strengths and areas to work on for each child is a strength of mine. I believe that teaching needs to encompass the whole child; the cognitive, emotional, social, and academic needs for each student must be addressed and nurtured. Every student can learn. The teacher is the "guide on the side" who draws out the best in her students. I strive to be that facilitator to learning for all of the childrn with whom I work.

I believe in a student involvement proactive approach where real life samples are implemented as part of the learning process. To teach is to have people actually take lessons learned and both interact and perform the task that will required so they can internalize the lessons learned.
As an graduate of DeVry Technical Institute and also a Faculty Assistant while attending DeVry. I possess an ability to teach others basic and intermediate math skills. While I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, I also taught additional math and Computer Programming on a one on one basis. My teaching skills have also carried on to doing various types of Sales and Marketing training both as a mentor and as part of my day to day responsibilities. This was something I particularly implemented professionally at Atlantic Business Products, PC Marketing and COMP USA Business Services.
