15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I have a good rapport with my student and have had several that have told me that I am the best teacher they have ever had(which didn't hurt my ego!!) I have had the opportunity to work as a house mother at a home for at-risk teenage girls. I have also taught tenth and seventh grades English and history. I enjoy working with students one-on-one after school hours and learning how to develop their potential.
I love incorporating my personality in my classroom. I often find that students are engaged and grasp concepts when I link them to real-life experiences. Personally, I enjoy everything about education. I believe that if you can educate a person, then doors are opened for them. I am the type of tutor that gives basic instructions, then I allow the student to try a few things on their own. If they struggle, then I will step in and help them. I prefer to go over the same material as much as needed until the student is comfortable with the subject matter. Then, I like to move on to a new subject.
In relation to the tutoring position, I have a year of experience in tutoring grammar school students in math and reading.
