My comments on tutoring Spelling : Spelling is part of language arts. Rather than memorizing a list of words weekly, I prefer to work with patterns that will help spelling most any words. Even though spell correct helps today, it is good to know how to spell as many words as one can from memory.

My teaching style is determined by the group that I am teaching. I am always honest and open minded with my students. I always give me the respect and care that they deserve.
My many years of teaching experience at all levels (from elementary to college) has given me the ability and patience to work with students of all ages. Although I prefer older students, I have taught reading, language arts, and writing in elementary school. My comments on tutoring Spelling : Spelling is actually fairly easy once one learns the rules.

Very relaxed and encouraging. I use quite a bit of discussion, and I like to ask students questions that lead them down the path to help them discover the answers they seek. I have found that information is better retained if one can guide the student to the conclusion that they seek, building upon the knowledge that is already there. One of my favorite thing is watching stidents' faces when they have the "Aha!" Moments.
