I enjoy helping children discover new areas, encouraging them to move way from the trite and trivial to new and daring concepts in their research. Often a trivial fact that they never knew will open the doors to opportunities they never envisioned. My son has many interests, and I have always encouraged him to explore them beyond the basics - he can now engage in some amazing discussions with my father, a former Army Ranger, about events in Vietnam that I know were never taught in my history classes.
