A Little Bit About Me...

I am a biology graduate from the University of Colorado. I am planning on getting my PhD in Molecular Bio-science. I love biology and all of the other subjects withing biology (ie. molecular biology, microbiology, genetics, ecology etc. ) I also enjoy math a lot my degree only required me to complete Calc. For example, I like to break down scientific terms by their roots. In doing so, my students not only remember what the terms mean for that class but can also apply that knowledge in future class work. My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000.
