A Little Bit About Me...

I have many experiences and a varied background. I have two Masters in English and Secondary Education. My bachelor degrees are in English and Spanish. While a high school student, I was an exchange student in Mexico. I also spent five years in Japan teaching English in a public school and at a language school. Before that I taught writing courses to college students. I have lots of experience teaching writing, grammar, and literature. I am able to teach any level.
I love learning and teaching. I understand that all students learn differently, and I take that into account while helping each individual student,so that I am best able to help each student meet his/her potential. I am a laid back person who is easy to talk to and love to break the complicated down into the easy to grasp. I am a firm believer that every teaching relationship is an opportunity for all involved to learn (and that includes the instructor!). My goal is to teach others how to become effective communicators not only in the realm of the classroom, but in everyday life as well. I enjoy helping my students learn skills that can be applied to every subject in school and in life. I tell all my students who don't feel they have the skills to be a writer that great writers are taught to write; they are not born that way.
