I use the Orton- Gilingham multi sensory approach.

I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.

Some pupils are very hardworking.They always do what they are asked to do.Some would bring dictionaries to school.So ,whenever , there are new vocabulary, they would refer to their dictionaries but the funniest thing is that these pupils do not know how to choose the best meanings to the words they found. They don't know whether it is a noun,adjective or verb.And some of them would take any meanings as long as there is a meaning to it. I'm 21 and have been speaking Portuguese (Brazilian) for my entire life because my family is from Brazil. I speak the dialect from Rio which is the dialect taught in schools there. Give Real life experience a try

Experience throughout school, work and personal experience dealing with the mentally challenged and dyslexia. my best friend had a son who was dyslexic and also he had ADD and I got him to trust me in babysitting and I taught him various things. I taught him how to read and write he could not accomplish that on his own. He was 11 at the time and I think with kids you have to be creative to teach them and I am very creative. I also have an aunt who is mentally handicapped, and I love spending time with her she is a very giving person. They teach me and it is always a joy to work with them and give something back.
