A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and I like to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. I am a patient and easy going person, and I am able to adapt well to an individual's particular style of learning. I fully understand and appreciate the importance of teaching through discovery, and I use a combination of teacher-centered and student-centered techniques to provide a constructive approach to learning.
I am currently a practicing attorney in Albany, New York, and I plan to go back to school to obtain my Ph.D in Public Administration and Policy. In addition to my JD, I also possess a BA in both Political Science and Spanish. During the last nine years, I have tutored students in a number of subjects, including government, social studies, Spanish, English, and research and writing. I was trained well by the Literacy volunteers of America. I believe that my style is to help the student with repetition, while still making learning fun, via conversation and connecting the importance of what is being learned to every day life.
Practiced for years as an attorney for NYS. Semi-retired now. I have also been a tutor with the Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) in Albany, NY. I met with a Korean graduate student at U. Albany and helped him learn English. I am also able to help in foreign language tutoring with German and French.
