My comments on tutoring Poetry : It's writing about your feelings. Published author.

I was a teaching assistant throughout high school. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi. I was selected to teach intensive intervention and pursued my Master’s degree with a concentration in remedial reading. During the past four years I have taught 2nd-adult English Language Learners and tutored K-adult students in all disciplines.
Helping learners find solutions to their problems is my passion. My greatest strength is compassion. I believe that anyone can achieve. I enjoy helping others discover their innate joy of learning. I thrive on seeing the "light" in a learner's eyes. It drives me with a determination to find the best way to help each individual become a lifelong learner.

Specializing in language skills, logic, and reasoning.

As a contented student at Full Sail University, I am pursuing a Master's in Fine Arts in Creative Writing. I volunteer for Graduate Honors research in Latino/a Caribbean Studies at the University of South Florida, and serve as a freelance consultant for an aspiring media entertainment company. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently an English major at The University of Tampa and will be graduating December of this year. My aspirations are to become an English teacher as well as a head contact for TESOL. I have had the opportunity to work with children that are struggling with reading, reading comprehension, and English. I am also taking coursework to attain a certification in TESOL.
My teaching style is student centered. I believe that in order for the student to grasp the material the lesson needs to be meaning for them. The authoritative teacher is not me. I like to be flexible making accommodations for the student so that they will have an open room to learn, because every student doesn’t learn the same way. So as a tutor I am able to recognize what seems to benefit the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored since I was in 8th grade. I love helping out and eventually I would love to be a tutor full time. Teaching other children on how to do different subjects makes me feel very happy that I am able to help them become successful in a subject that is very hard for them. I am willing to take all the time in the world for the student to make sure that they fully understand the topic that we are discussing.

To Help Your Child Succeed At Advancing In English Studies

I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. I graduated with a 3.35 QPA from Slippery Rock University in May of 2015! I have completed reading instructional courses in K-6th elementary education as well as courses in literature and reading assessment. I also have experience working with many high-and-low-incidence disabilities such as children who are deaf or blind, have Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, or Aspberger's disorders as well.

My comments on tutoring Poetry : Words are meant to be utilized in their fullest and Poetry helps us put feelings into the words. In Poetry the many words on the page not only express a meaning, but they are the meaning in it's purest form. One must understand this and not only write, but put love into the words that he or she puts down.

I love getting students interested in subjects before I start teaching them. There's no point in walking through a tunnel if you never see the light at the end of it. This can be done in many different ways such as comparing it to real life or showing what can be done with the knowledge acquired. The best way for students to start learning is to compare it to things they already know. For example, I explain a "Class", which is a term in the computer language Java, to an object in real life and all the different "methods", another computer science term, with all the different things that that object can do.
I have a passion for knowledge; I read everyday, write everyday, and teach everyday. In my high school career I tutored more people than I could have ever thought and received many thanks from all of them, in fact, I still have a huge thank you card from a group of students that ... read more

More About This Tutor...

As a teacher I plan to use those skills to motivate students to learn while having fun and being silly. I believe that grades 5-9 are the pathway to either students loving school or hating it, and hopefully my faith and understanding of brain based learning will be the light for today’s misguided youth. In my quest for knowledge I have learned that students must feel that they are a part of the learning process in order for them to make it their own, so with the help of Wong I plan to incorporate these practices in my instruction within reason.
I believe that my instructional abilities, combined with my strong ability to teach. My background in Early Childhood Education as both a teacher for three years, as well as a supervisor for five years has further cemented my ability to teach. My experience has not only given me the opportunity of dealing with students from 3-12 years old, b ... read more
