I am a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. My main interests and degree lie in medical sciences. I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her. I want to empower the students with the same drive to know how the world works. Motivation is key. A motivated student will care more about doing well. Also, developing critical thinking skills is an important part of any science curriculum. Science is a topic that I have always been interested in. When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know".
