Part of the advantage I have as a math tutor in particular is the fact that I failed math miserably in highschool myself. I have only learned what I know because I was bound and determined not to let any subject get the best of me. By doing this, the student gains confidence in the material more and more by knowing that while they may struggle in part in a certain area, there are also multiple areas of strength to focus on to increase academic confidence.
