A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a visual arts teacher at an Illinois public high school. I have worked with high school students for 12 years. Prior to teaching high school, I taught elementary school art for 5 years. I have also worked at the university level teaching art related courses. My specialties are in Painting and Drawing. I like to experiment with media as much as possible. I enjoy working with abstraction, but I feel drawing from life continues to build skills and keep the hand and I coordination sharp.

A Little Bit About Me...

I do enjoy working with students and seeing them strive to excellence. I am patient and will work with students to help scaffold them to higher learning. I believe that there are several different ways to teach students and knowing which way will help benefit your child. I will use thier prior knowledge to help them understand concepts that prove difficult to them.
I have my BS in Elementary Education with minors in Science and Social Studies. I completed my student teaching requirements in inner city Milwaukee. I then was hired right out of college to teach 5th grade in Arizona which I did for two years. I then transferred to third grade and began my masters program in reading. I have an anticipated graduation in May of 2010. I hvae tutored students all three years in various subjects.
