I hold a BS from St. Bonaventure University in Elementary Education, and a Master’s Degree in Integrating Technology into the Classroom from Walden University. I graduated 7th of 645 from St. Bonaventure, where I focused on teaching with hands-on activities and technology infused lessons. My teaching experience includes being the director of an After School Program focused on reading and a long-term substitute, teaching one on one special education and substituting in regular classrooms from PreK to 9th grade. My teaching passion is with 3-6 year olds, though I enjoy working with all ages. Teaching and working with children not only educates them but it educates myself in the process. I get to touch up on materials that the children are learning, as well as learn better ways to educate students. Patience is what I believe is the most important aspect of teaching. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. If they are unfocused and miss a part of what is instructed, they will be confused throughout the whole process. It helps to be patient with the educating process. These educators who take the time to make sure everything is understood make a huge difference in each student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am qualified to tutor writing, basic computer, reading, basic math, learning, biology, organic chemistry, genetics, geography, and various exams, all from college-level experiences. I had a scientific book in Barnes and Noble, ample graduate-level coursework in Education, experience as a High School teacher, and lived abroad. I have a B.S. in plant biotech from Cornell.
I enjoy earnest and humble students, learning with and from them. I feel uncomfortable not learning laterally as well as vertically, seeing that to be knowledgeable, one must not just memorize but ruminate on what was memorized, making as many lateral connections as expedient. I like to simply direct and expand a student's learning as opposed to an artifactual accomplishment; however, my premiere obligation is punctual achievement of task.

I use all the main teaching tools. Both hands on and visually for those students who need different tools. I love to interact with children and adults helping them through their classes to better their future. I also enjoy having a hand in their future success. I truely believe that a great teacher is one who teaches for the greater growth of their pupils and personally I strive to help them succeed.
As an Honor roll student, a student on the Dean's list I was lucky to have graduated early. I taught six graders through opelia. I have also tutored a master's Student through her Statistics. Currently tutoring a student via online on her Senior Algebra for her Liberal Arts degree. I will hold a BA degree come december of 2010.
