I have a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese from a well-known university in the U.S. I have about 20 years of experience teaching Spanish and Portuguese on the college level. This includes elementary and intermediate levels, conversation, composition, literature, culture, film and medical Spanish. I also enjoy tutoring younger students. I have 25 plus years experience in teaching children and adults. I am currently working on my PhD in education with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction. I enjoy working one-on-one as well as in a classroom setting. Since I am completing my current studies online, I have a good understanding of online learning and studying style. I am a firm believer that everyone can learn and I love helping unlock the key to learning for someone struggling with a problem. As a substitute teacher in the Bethalto school district, I feel I have been trained in all of the subjects necessary to tutor students. As a student at the University of Chicago, I have tutored at the local Ray Elementary school through the Neighborhood Schools program. There, I tutored two fourth grade ESL students, an Italian boy and a Korean girl, primarily in math and reading.
