I have always been interested and active in the education field. I enjoy working individually with students, more so than in a classroom setting. I received a Master's degree in Creative Writing and a Bachelor's in English for Secondary Education, with minors in French and Creative Writing. I have been teaching Composition at a Community College and have tutored students for many years, whether in English, basic French or even math (up to and including Algebra).

My teaching style is definitely one of facilitator. I present the material in a fashion, which allow students to experiment and develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills. As a mathematics major, I worked in the math lab all four years of my college experience. I would tutor others with their math and help students study for exams. I have also tutored in junior high settings and this past summer I tutored a young girl in 7th grade math. I have also tutored while in high school.
I love math. I find it fun, challenging, and very interesting. When I tutor students, I try to portray my excitement for the subject so they see that it is not intimidating and so they are more willing to work to solve a problem. I like to give examples of problems, and "problem solve" with the student through illustrative examples on paper or on the board.
