Although I have earned my degree, BS in Psychology, my previous education includes 2 years at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico and 2 years of Engineering at Oregon State University. The years at St. John's have given me the unusual ability to tutor students in Ancient Greek. My basic teaching style utilizes a multimedia approach since different students learn in different ways (audio, visual, or hands-on). I like using simple “demo” experiments to show the “magic” of chemistry. Demos are then backed up by showing the chemical equations to explain what is actually going on. I also tend to use a lot of analogies, that students can related to. I access web information to help explain chemical concepts in creative ways. I earned my bachelor's degree from Oregon State University, taking mainly writing and literature. In my master's program I did a lot of writing classes and I focused mainly on publishing, and subjects such as editing and grammar. Instead of taking Spanish, I took statistics.
