A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching! I didn't realize I did until I began homeschooling my daughter but I do. In fact I plan on beginning my masters in Teaching this fall. I enjoy children and working with them. I have a lot of patience and am very laid back. There is no greater joy than seeing a child's face light up when he/she suddenly "gets it." I feel that no two children learn alike, and am able to adjust to that.
Reading has always been a passion of mine. My father was a historian and an avid reader and he passed along a love of both reading and history to me. My teaching style is very hands on. I understand that students learn in a variety of ways. Some are hands on, and need to actually get their hands on the project to understand. Some learn by seeing it. They have to see it and then maybe write it and learn by visualizing. Some learn by listening. They can listen to a lecture and hang on to every word. I understand that all children are different, and therefore lessons have to be taylored to fit each child's learning needs. I love children and enjoy teaching.
