I spent one year in college working with special needs students from the local elementary school, which included writing lesson plans and executing activities in group form. I taught one year of 7th grade Health and Physical Education. I tutored all the students at the end of the year to help them achieve passing scores on End Of Grade testing.
I do not like to teach out of textbooks. I use them primarily as resources. I prefer to create a lesson or activity that plays to the strengths of the individual child/student and challenges them on their particular level. I have found interactive lessons are very effective for all age ranges.

I currently have a BA in Liberal Studies (Education) from Cal-State Northridge. During my years at this university, I took classes to work in the elementary school setting and as a result, have observed and participated in various elementary school settings from Kindergarten through the 5th grade. As an CSU-Pueblo senior engineer student, I know how hard some math classes could be. I have successfully passed all my math courses and I am one more class away to get my minor in it. Students needed help in the beginning of the semester due to bad grades, through the semester I helped them to successfully improve their grades and review for every exam.
