My comments on tutoring Composition : I have a MA in English and I have taught college level composition (English 101 and 102)

I guide the student to his or her understanding of the material. I do not feed information. I ask that the student come to their own conclusions.
I have a BA in English and Creative Writing. I received a MA in English Literature in 2005. I began my teaching career at Calhoun teaching English Composition 101 and 102. I have since been teaching high school (for 8 years) and currently am teaching honors 10 and AP Senior Lit. and Comp. at a local high school. English is my life! ha! Phonics and help for dyslexic students

While homeschooling my boys, I invented new ways to teach them to read. These methods turned out to be helpful to many students. I've taught children how to read for about 5 years. I wrote a series of books to give teachers methods to teach phonics in creative ways, published through Creative Teaching Press. I've published mountains of curriculum. Formerly, I was the editor for the weekly education section for the "Denver Post." Now I am especially interested in helping children who have reading problems, particularly those who have or may have dyslexia.

A Little Bit About Me...

My desire has always been to be a teacher. I enjoy working with children to reach their greatest potential. Everyone can learn but we may not all get there the same way or at the same time.
